What are Varicose Veins?

Varicose veins are swollen, twisted veins that have filled with an abnormal collection of blood. Healthy leg veins contain valves that open and close, assisting blood in moving forward towards the heart. With varicose veins, the valves do not function properly, allowing blood to remain in the vein hence causing a pooling of blood, leading to symptoms of the following:

• Pain
• Swollen Limbs
• Leg heaviness and fatigue
• Skin changes and skin ulcers
