What is VASER Liposelection? How does it differ from traditional liposuction?

VASER Liposelection is a minimally invasive procedure that precisely and efficiently removes unwanted body fat. An alternative to the harsh techniques of traditional liposuction, VASER Liposelection uses state-of-the-art ultra-sound technology designed to gently reshape your body. At Venus Medical, VASER is performed under local anaesthesia, avoiding unnecessary risks of a general anaesthetic. The VASER ultrasound technology liquefies fat instantly while conserving surrounding tissues such as blood vessels and nerves. The result is a smooth result and much less bruising and swelling compared to traditional liposuction.

what happens during vaser liposelection?

1. The area to be reshaped is filled with a special saline solution that numbs the area so you feel no discomfort. This is done through tiny incisions (4mm) which heal very quickly.
2. A small probe is passed into the fat and sound energy breaks up the fat, leaving surrounding tissues relatively undamaged. The fat is liquefied instantly.
3. The liquefied fat is removed through gentle suction.
4. A snug compression garment is worn afterwards to ensure a smooth result and comfort.
5. You can go home usually an hour or two after the procedure.

when do i see results?

Pain and swelling are usually minimal afterwards and you will be able to return to your normal activities usually within a couple of days. It is important to remember that results continue to improve for up to 3 months after VASER Liposelection, so you can enjoy a better contour as time goes by.
