What is IPL?

IPL is a form of potent laser therapy which makes use of multiple wavelengths of light. It is an extremely safe and completely non-invasive treatment for hyperpigmentation which is always tailored to the individual at Venus Medical for their own needs.

Why should I consider IPL for hyperpigmentation and sun spots?

IPL treats sun damaged skin which has become visually dissatisfying to the patient. IPL tackles the most unsightly effects of hyperpigmentation; redness, rosacea, broken blood vessels. IPL is also highly effective against brown pigmentation such as age spots. Therefore, it is a popular option for patients at Venus Medical seeking treatment on the face, chest and hands.

How is IPL performed?

The treatment area is cleansed.  A cool gel may be applied to the area being treated. Dark glasses are worn to protect the patient’s eyes from the light. With the patient in a comfortable, relaxed and reclined position, the IPL is gently applied to the skin and light pulses are applied.

Treatments usually take no more than 30 minutes, and the area(s) treated take on a flushed red colour which will fade quickly afterward.

Some brown spots may appear darker for a few days, then peel off. You can apply makeup immediately after IPL treatment if necessary.

It is crucial that the area to be treated by IPL is free of any fake tan product.

How much is IPL?

190 Euros per treatment, on the face, neck and chest; a package of buy 3 get 1 free costs 570 Euros.
